§ 1Overview
This page sets out general notices that apply to material across this site. Specific notices may also appear inline on individual pages where the context calls for them — for example, on the bonded storage calculator or in the methodology of a published research piece. Where an inline notice and this general statement diverge, the inline notice prevails for the page on which it appears.
§ 2Research and commentary
The publications grouped under our Insights surface — Quarterly Outlook, Species Weekly Briefs, Special Reports & Forecasts, and the trade notes that accompany them — are commercial research produced by our analysts for the use of trade counterparties. They reflect our analysts' interpretation of available data at the time of writing, typically under conditions of incomplete public reporting and lagged data releases.
Our research:
- Is not investment advice. It is not directed at retail investors, financial-instruments traders, or any audience seeking a recommendation on the purchase or sale of securities, derivatives, or financial products.
- Is not a price quotation. Pricing references that appear in published material are illustrative; binding pricing is issued only in writing through the trade desk in response to a specific request.
- Should not be relied on as the sole input to a commercial decision. Buyers, sellers, and counterparties remain responsible for their own due diligence.
- May be revised without notice. Where a forecast or estimate proves materially inconsistent with subsequent data, we may update or supersede the original publication. The version of a publication available on this site is the version we currently stand behind.
§ 3Indicative pricing and availability
Prices, basis points, currency rates, freight references, and inventory positions surfaced on this site — including the FX ticker on the home page, indicative prices in published research, and any operating metric stated for our facilities — are reference only.
They are subject in every case to confirmation in a written quotation responsive to a specific request, and to the trade terms agreed between the parties at the time of contracting. Nothing on this site constitutes a binding offer to sell, an irrevocable price, or a representation of currently available inventory.
§ 4The bonded storage calculator
The bonded storage break-even calculator on the Services pages estimates the cost-benefit of storing cargo in bonded versus non-bonded mode using rate inputs current at the time of publication. The output is illustrative only:
- Rates may change between the time the page is published and the time of an actual storage contract.
- The calculator does not account for variables outside its inputs — for example, lot-specific handling requirements, demurrage exposure, financing costs, or insurance.
- The output is an order-of-magnitude indication, not a quotation.
Actual storage terms are agreed in a written service contract, and the rates and conditions reflected in that contract — not the calculator — govern the commercial relationship.
§ 5Third-party data and references
This site uses, references, or attributes a number of external sources.
Currency reference rates
Currency rates surfaced in the home-page ticker and elsewhere are sourced from the European Central Bank via a public reference API. We display these rates for orientation; we do not warrant their accuracy, completeness, or freshness, and they should not be relied upon for foreign-exchange transactions. The ECB set does not cover every currency relevant to our trade book; where the ticker shows a static fallback for a currency not in the ECB set, this is indicated in the caption.
Fisheries and stock-assessment references
Data and figures drawn from FAO publications, regional fisheries management organisations (including NPFC, SPRFMO, WCPFC, ICCAT, CCAMLR, IATTC, and IOTC), and national assessment bodies (such as INIDEP in Argentina and IMARPE in Peru) appear in our research and on our species pages. Where we cite such material we attribute it to the relevant source. The underlying data, methodologies, and conclusions belong to the publishing body, not to Baixian Trade.
Regulatory references
Descriptions of catch certification regimes and food safety, customs, and access frameworks — including EU IUU, EU CATCH, US SIMP, GACC, MFDS, MAFF, and Rosselkhoznadzor — are written from the perspective of an operator within them, not as an authoritative restatement of the law. For an authoritative position on any specific regulation, refer to the competent authority's own publication.
Map and geographic data
Maps on this site draw on open-data geographic sources under their respective open licences. Boundary depictions and territorial labels are illustrative of cartographic source data; they do not represent the political position of Baixian Trade or its group affiliates on contested borders or naming.
§ 6Linked external sites
Where this site links to external pages — for example, a regulator's website, a public database, or another organisation's published material — we do so for the reader's convenience. We do not control the content of those sites and do not endorse their material. External links may break, move, or redirect without notice.
§ 7Product photographs and specifications
Photographs of products and processing operations on this site are representative of typical condition and operation. Actual product delivered against a specific contract may vary within the tolerances of the agreed specification. The binding description of a product is the specification sheet agreed between the parties and incorporated into the relevant sale contract — not the marketing material on this site.
Similarly, processing methods, packaging configurations, and storage conditions described on the site are general descriptions of our standard operating practice. Variations applicable to a specific shipment are recorded in the contract for that shipment.
§ 8Food safety and regulatory conformity
Our products are produced and exported in conformity with the food safety and regulatory requirements of the destination markets we serve, as evidenced by the catch certificates, health certificates, and customs documentation accompanying each shipment. Compliance with the importer's own market-access requirements at the point of import — including labelling, customs declarations, and any further national or sub-national rules — remains the responsibility of the importer of record.
Nothing on this site should be read as a representation that any particular product is approved for any particular use, market, or labelling regime beyond what is set out in the contract and the documentation issued for the specific consignment.
§ 9Trademarks and intellectual property
Baixian, Baixian Trade, 百鮮集團, the Baixian wordmark, and the Baixian brand mark are trade names and marks used by Baixian Group and its affiliates. References to third-party trade names or marks on this site are made in their ordinary descriptive sense and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
The text, photographs, charts, maps, and design of this site are the property of Baixian Trade or its licensors. Use of published research and other site material is further described in our terms of use.
§ 10Changes to this notice
If any of the notices above changes materially, this page will be updated to reflect the change. The most recent version of the notice is always the version visible here.
